Each one has evolved from just an idea into a full ...Actually, trying to diagnose what went wrong with Ranger: D&D 3e still really loved limited uses of abilities, like how even cantrips were single-use. Smite Evil on the Paladin is probably the worst offender. You get a single use per day at level 1, and it applies to a single attack.Ranger is nice, but I think investigator architype is a hat on a hat. Pursue a lead(+1) and hunt prey(+2) are both circumstance bonuses, so the dedication is a bit of a down grade. The architype feats just look like they clash, or are weaker than the ranger choices. The problem with builds like that is the rest of the party.Champion (pala) dedication is extremely good for fighters. You get lay on hands and a great reaction. Might not fit your goblin character, though. Spellcaster dedication is a solid choice too. You can pick up some great spells like blur, flight, jump, and more. Power attack is not really worth it IMO.Playing Strategy: This optimized pathfinder ranger build is actually a very straight forward character to play. Of course, this isn't a cmplete list, merely two that I have found to be pretty effective: Swashbuckler w/ Flying Blade feat.
